Calibre Plastics (Pty) Ltd is a Johannesburg-based custom plastic injection moulding manufacturer with a proud heritage of over 60 years in South African production. Established in 1963, Calibre Plastics was built on precision engineering and toolmaking expertise – foundations that continue to shape our standards, processes, and mindset today. Built for Industrial-Grade Plastic Injection Moulding

Our services include custom plastic injection moulding – from ongoing repeat production to high-volume manufacturing of existing parts. Our facility operates 40 injection moulding machines, ranging from 40 ton to 1350 ton clamping force, enabling us to manufacture components up to 7.5 kg depending on part design and material selection. We mould in a wide range of polymers including ABS, HDPE, LDPE, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Polyethylene and Polypropylene, as well as various synthetic rubbers, and our team can advise on material suitability based on functional requirements such as density, rigidity, and strength.

Custom Injection Moulding with Post-Industrial Recycled Materials

Our team has extensive experience working with recycled-content materials, and we can guide customers on the viable use of regrind or post-industrial recycled content based on technical, regulatory, and performance requirements. Our approach supports South Africa’s growing focus on sustainable plastics management by reducing landfill waste and improving resource efficiency—aligned with our commitment to quality, repeatability, and reliability. Quality production at Calibre Plastics goes hand-in-hand with responsible manufacturing. We actively minimise waste through closed-loop recycling, regrinding and reusing suitable production scrap back into our processes – supporting more sustainable manufacturing without compromising part consistency or performance.

In-house Tooling Capability & Production Support

Calibre Plastics has an established CNC-capable toolroom specialising in design, manufacture and maintenance of plastic injection moulds. The in-house tooling support offers faster turnaround, reduced downtime and improved production continuity. We work with pre-existing and customer-owned moulds – ideal for repeat orders, spare part supply, or restarting discontinued lines cost effectively.

With over 2,000 m² of warehousing space and on-site stock handling, we’re structured to support efficient processing for pickup or delivery – helping customers maintain supply reliability once parts go into production.
